It is my pleasure to welcome all students and whānau to the start of the 2022 school year and trust that you have made the most of a wonderful summer. As the new principal at Piopio College I have been officially welcomed into the school community with a special pōwhiri and have been heartened by the hospitality that has been extended to me. |

My time in education has seen me with experience in a range of secondary schools such as Auckland Boys Grammar, Westlake Boys High, Botany Downs Secondary College and Papatoetoe High School. This also includes extensive experience in senior leadership roles as well as the last two years as a Senior Education Advisor with the Ministry of Education based in Auckland.
I have a passion for sport having played cricket and hockey at various levels and also in a coaching capacity for a number of years. A keen golfer, with a questionable handicap I look forward to playing at the Piopio Aria Golf course soon.
Students will thrive when learning is authentic, relevant and challenges them to be the best that they can be. Creating an environment with high expectations and to support staff and whānau is an important responsibility and I will do my very best to achieve this goal.
Piopio College sits proudly in the Ngāti Maniapoto rohe and I look forward to engaging with the wider community to learn as much as I can about the aspirations you have for our young people.
