Shaun Edgerton

 
Congratulations to Shaun Edgerton who recently competed in the NZ BMX Championships over the 2017 Easter weekend.  More than 1000 riders travelled to Te Awamutu  to compete in the New Zealand BMX Championships.

Shaun raced well qualifying through to the semi-finals in the 15 year boys 20 inch class, dropping out in the semi-finals where he needed a 4th placing and achieved a 6th.  He received and NZ ranking of 12th in that age group.

On the Sunday he competed in the 15 -16 years boys cruiser class, competing against a world 1 ranked rider as well as riders almost a   Top ten BMX placing for Shaun year older than him. He raced  really well and received a NZ 6 ranking.

Oliver Barnsdall

Leaving student Oliver Barnsdall has had some fantastic golfing success over the last few years. All his hard work and dedication has paid off with his acceptance into the PGA Golf Academy for 2018, where he will complete a 3 year apprenticeship.

Oliver was the youngest ever person to apply and be accepted into this Academy. Just a few of Oliver’s achievements, particularly over the last year in Golf are:
* Oliver was awarded the ‘Supreme award’ at the Waitomo Youth awards recently for all rounded student for all of his achievements in education, sport, cultural, and leadership.
* Has represented in The Under 19 North Island NZ Golf Championship.
* Made Top 16 - winner of the plate match play at The NZ Māori Nationals 2016, against hundreds of other players
* Winner of the Senior Mens Stableford at the NZ Maori Nationals 2016.
* Travelled to The Gold Coast of Australia in November 2016 with his coach, Andrew Horan to take part in Golf coaching sessions with Gary Edwin at the Glades Golf Course in Robina.

Oliver is currently working at the St Andrews Golf Course in Hamilton with his coach, training and gaining more experience until his apprenticeship starts in 2018. He also works part time for Corey Barnsdall Builders.

Oliver will be taking part in various tournaments and Golf coaching throughout this year. A massive congratulations to Oliver and the entire Barnsdall whanau, we are all very proud of you..
