As Head Boy of Piopio College, I am honoured to represent a school that not only values academic achievement but also fosters personal growth, leadership, and a strong sense of community. At Piopio College, we are encouraged to challenge ourselves, support one another, and strive for excellence in everything we do. It’s a place where every student is given the opportunity to grow in confidence, character, and capability—preparing us to make a positive difference both within our school and in the wider world.

 

Caitlyn Cody

Head Student

Kia ora, Ko Cailtyn Cody tāku ingoa. I am privileged to be one of Piopio College's head students for 2025. In my leadership role this year, I aim to encourage the students to participate in school events and make the activities more enjoyable and adaptable for them. I will strive to do my best in everything and also try to help the students with what I am best at. My main goals for this year are to work on my public speaking and get university entrance. Subjects that I enjoy the most at school, are Physical Education, and Hospitality. In my spare time, I love baking and being in the outdoors. I can’t wait for what this year has to bring us, let’s make it a good one!! 

Abbie Blakeman

Deputy Head Student

Kia Ora, my name is Abbie Blakeman and I am very thankful to have the opportunity to be a deputy head student for 2025. My overall favourite subject at school this year is Psychology, I enjoy learning about the brain and behaviours of people and how they develop. I also have a very strong passion for hospitality, I enjoy being able to run a cafe for our kaiako here at Piopio College.
My goals for this year is to create a safe space for the fellow students, making them feel confident and able to speak to someone when in need of help. I would like to gain more confidence in public speaking in front of a large crowd and push myself out of my comfort zone in order to grow.

Deputy Head Student

Kia ora, my name is Jaimee Martin and I am privileged to be a deputy head student of Piopio College for 2025. My favourite subjects include English and Hospitality, though I also enjoy getting involved and competitive in events like athletics, unihoc, badminton and Whare Comp. 
This year I hope to build my confidence and leadership skills, and make everyone feel included. I hope to bring a positive attitude and competitive nature to our team, and be involved in making this school a more enjoyable place. I aim to do the best I can with the time and the role I have been given.
