Learning Support - Mātauranga Motuhake

The Piopio College Learning Support team is here to empower every learner to thrive. We provide tailored support, inclusive practices, and a safe space where students are seen, heard, and celebrated.

What Learning Support includes;

Timetabling Learning Assistants into classes
Providing remedial work for students who are very low learners
Developing Collaborative Action Plan (IEP) with teachers, student and whānau
Individualised programmes/ modified timetables created based on learning needs
Mentoring
Structured Literacy Programme to support students with reading, writing and spelling
Co-ordinating outside provider referrals for additional support when needed
Provide staff with support and professional development
Provide Special Assessment Conditions for students who are eligible NCEA assessments (reader and or writer, separate accommodation, use of computer)
